Ocean Ecosystem Navigator
The Ocean Ecosystem Navigator (the Navigator) will be responsible for engagement, coordination and implementation of high calibre programs, events and competitions involving the Ocean Startup Project and the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies (COAST), an initiative of the South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP). The Navigator will assist in the design, engagement and delivery of ocean venture creation activities that include events, outreach and ecosystem building. The Navigator will meet with current and potential entrepreneurs, partners and others in the ecosystem to evaluate opportunities and provide support.

Indigenous Ocean Ecosystem Navigator

Coastal First Nations have a unique relationship with the ocean, through the deep and cultural, historic, and spiritual understanding of the natural world. Their ways of knowing combined with innovative solutions could assist in addressing many of the unhealthy challenges our marine environments now face.

The Indigenous Ocean Ecosystem Navigator (the Navigator) will play a key role in our listening and learning along with the planning, coordination and implementation of high caliber programs, events and competitions surrounding the Ocean Startup Project (OSP) and the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies (COAST), an initiative of the South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP).

The Navigator will conduct outreach across BC and other parts of Canada and meet with current and potential entrepreneurs, partners and others in the ecosystem to raise awareness of opportunities and to connect very early stage entrepreneurs to programs and advisors. To ensure existing networks with First Nations and Indigenous communities connect with blue economy opportunities, the Navigator will also act as a collaborator, working closely with partners to connect them to OSP and COAST opportunities.

Coordonnateur/Coordonnatrice de programme /Program Coordinator
Le/la coordonnateur/coordonnatrice sera responsable de l’engagement, de la coordination et de la mise en œuvre de programmes, d’événements et de concours de haut calibre dans le cadre du projet pancanadien Ocean Startup. Relevant du directeur exécutif de Ocean Startup Project (basé à Halifax) et opérant au sein de TMQ (à Rimouski), le coordonnateur de programme aidera à la conception, à l’engagement et à la réalisation d’activités évènementielles, de sensibilisation et de structuration de l’écosystème qui favorisent la création d’entreprises dans le secteur océanique et maritime québécois et canadien. Le coordonnateur de programme rencontrera des entrepreneurs en activité et potentiels, des partenaires et d’autres acteurs de l’écosystème pour évaluer les opportunités et fournir du soutien.

The Coordinator will be responsible for engaging, coordinating and implementing implementation of high-calibre programs, events and competitions within the framework of the project pan-Canadian Ocean Startup. Reporting to the Executive Director of Ocean Startup Project (based in Halifax) and operating within TMQ (in Rimouski), the Program Coordinator will assist in the design, the commitment and the realization of events, awareness-raising and structuring activities the ecosystem that promote the creation of businesses in the Quebec ocean and maritime sector and Canadian. The program coordinator will meet with current and potential entrepreneurs, partners and other ecosystem players to assess opportunities and provide support.
