Amplify is an initiative from the Ocean Startup Project designed to help Canadian ocean startups bridge the gap between innovation and real-world adoption. If you're building a solution for the sustainable ocean economy and ready to accelerate your path to commercialization, Amplify gives you the support you need to move faster - toward customers, revenue, and impact.
Amplify provides funding and support for startups to:
Run commercial testing and pilot projects
Deploy technologies with qualified customers or strategic investors
Turn product validation into sales and scaling opportunities
Whether you're refining your tech in a challenge program or accelerating with an early adopter, Amplify helps turn momentum into market traction.
Who Should Apply?
Amplify is for Canadian ocean startups that are:
Participating in a challenge, accelerator, or early adopter program with an Amplify Partner
Ready to engage customers or investors through pilot/demo projects
Looking to fund critical activities—like tech deployment, materials, equipment, or travel for field trials
Startups can access up to $25,000 in eligible expenses, with $100,000 total available through this round. Applications and funding is awarded on an ongoing basis from May-December 2026, or until funding runs out.

May 2026: Rolling Applications Open
March 2027: All funded activities must be complete
Program Highlights:
Eligibility: Canadian-incorporated ocean startups that are seven years old or less, have 50 employees or less, and are working with an Amplify Partner
Support: Up to $25,000 in essential costs covered by Ocean Startup Project
Outcomes: Pilot-ready startups advancing toward procurement, partnerships, or investment
Deadline: All funded activities must be completed within three months of being accepted or by March 12, 2027, which ever comes first
